HJ's Extensions Specialist of the Year 2023 - Sponsored by Great Lengths:
In pursuit of the UK's most exceptional extensionists, HJ's Extensions Competition, proudly sponsored by Great Lengths, invites extensionists to showcase their technical prowess and creative abilities by demonstrating the most flawless and innovative application of extensions ending in a live awards ceremony on the HJ stage. The competition is split into two categories - Commercial and Creative. Finalists will present their completed and styled entry look on the Great Lengths stand, and the winners will be announced on the HJ stage at 17:15 on Sunday 15th October.
SNAP! - Salon International & Hairdressers Journal International's New Online Competition:
Salon International introduces SNAP!, a brand-new online competition that invites hair professionals to showcase their skills through digital submissions. This innovative competition promises to uncover hidden talents and offer a platform for aspiring artists to shine. The top 10 images in each of the five categories will be displayed in a Gallery at Salon International, with the winners of each category being announced live at the show on Monday 16th October.
Modern Barber Raw Talent Barbering Competition:
Barbers from across the country will converge at Salon International to participate in the Raw Talent Barbering Competition, brought to you by Modern Barber in association with Mike Taylor Education. With skill and artistic flair, barbers will compete in three categories: Student, Graduate and Post Graduate, with the winners for each category being announced live on the Sunday 15th and Monday 16th October.
The Modern Barber Awards:
Taking place at Omeara, London on Sunday, October 15th, the Modern Barber Awards celebrate talent across the barbering industry — the people and businesses that help maintain standards, inspire others and move barbering forward. Including categories such as Best Team, Best Photographic Image, Community Hero and Best All-Round Barber, the Modern Barber Awards is the barbering industry’s only dedicated awards platform designed to celebrate both commercial and creative success.
The #BHABursary:
In addition to these thrilling live competitions, Salon International 2023 offers a unique opportunity for hairdressers under the age of 30 who have not entered the Awards before. HJ’s #BHABursary, in partnership with Schwarzkopf Professional, aims to nurture emerging talent by providing a platform to kickstart careers by giving the winner the opportunity to enter a Regional or Newcomer category in the 2024 British Hairdressing Awards. The winning entry of the #BHABursary will not only receive a professional photoshoot but will also secure two coveted tickets to this year's British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional. The prestigious awards ceremony is set to take place on Monday, November 27th, at the Grosvenor House Hotel, a JW Marriott Hotel, situated in the heart of Park Lane, London.
