Düsseldorf welcomes the celebrities of the barber, braiding and hip-hop community
Barber shops are not only experiencing a revival but they also come with a multi-faceted and bustling community with its own lifestyle. The top stars of the barber community and the art of barbering and braiding will be celebrated by the “Barber’s Experience” on 1 and 2 April at TOP HAIR in Düsseldorf. The event, which is held as a new feature of the Berlin Barber Expo in Hall 17 and on the show stage in Hall 15, will culminate in the finale of the Barber Battles. Here, promising talents of this scene will compete with one another in the “Speed Fade” and “Scissors” categories on stage and be judged by a high-calibre jury. Other programme highlights of the “Barber’s Experience” include the Braiding Battle and the Barber Panel featuring special guests from the barbering and hip-hop scene. Needless to say, barbershop fans can also find out about product innovations for their barbering business on more than 170 m² at Stand B38 in Hall 17.
“With our Barber’s Experience we are pleased to be able to introduce the art of barbering to a large audience in such a high-quality setting as TOP HAIR. Our new format is characterised by even greater variety, cultural diversity and innovations in the barbering segment,” says Michael Ehlers, founder of the “Barber’s Experience”. TOP HAIR Director Hannes Niemann adds: “It is great that together with our partner TOP HAIR International GmbH we have managed to win over such an event for the trade fair that brings the facets and spirit of the barbering culture to Düsseldorf and where famous pros and promising protagonists impressively demonstrate their skills.”
Community-celeb jury awards best barber and braiding talents
The jury is made up of award-winning Hayden Cassidy from London (Female Barber of the Year 2022), Düsseldorf’s Fresh Prince the Barber, the founder and owner of HairJordan, female barber Mihaela Stelniceanu from Bucharest, Brand Ambassador of Dovan Scissors and Mero as well as Dawid the Barber, Barber and CEO at Ebony & Ivory in Berlin.

The event aims to strengthen barber culture in Germany and shed light on all facets of barbering, braiding and hair care. The founders of the Barber’s Experience are Michael Ehlers and David Lubowicz.
