ADROGYNOUS CROP GET THE LOOK
CALLUM STANDEN-MAY, CO-OWNER OF STANDENMAY, CREATIVE STYLIST AT BOND SHOREDITCH AND CUTTING EXPERT AND INFLUENCER.
Shorter haircuts for woman, including pixie cuts and crops, have been on trend for some time now and are perfect for female clients who want to truly stand out from the crowd and show off their best facial features. Shorter sides with length on top has been a trend amongst male clients for the past few years, and we are now starting to see a lot more woman opting for this style too. I love that more clients are starting to ask for this androgynous hair trend, as it can look incredibly feminine, as well as fierce and sexy! Here is how I got the look in three easy steps…
1. The key to this haircut is the blend. You want the top of the hair to stand out and look longer in length but you also want it to not appear too disconnected from the sides, which are shorter in length. Use scissors to allow you to cut close to the head and to ensure neatness.
2. When it comes to the top of the hair, leave this slightly longer in length but cut into the hair around the fringe and crown area to create texture for an even funkier finish, whilst also keeping the style very youthful and feminine.
3. I love this look paired with a sleek and polished appearance. Finish by using a hair product like R+Co’s Two Way Mirror Smoothing Oil to get rid of any frizz and flyaways and to leave the hair looking super smooth and lustrous. Don’t overdo it with product as you still want this look to have a softness to it.
