The 2021 Haircut Trends Barry Maddocks

Summer 2021 is now on the horizon and with the salons opened, the light is finally at the end of the very long pandemic tunnel.

Everyone will agree, there is no better feeling than a fresh cut and a new style and of course the first visit to the hairdresser they’ve longed to see for so long. It’s no surprise that clients are in need of a visit to the salon and after embracing their natural style for so long, it’s time to change it up a little! For 2021, creative styles and historic trends have come back around and I couldn’t be more excited!

The Short Short Cut

Getting rid of those split and damaged ends, the short, short cut will be hugely popular with those looking to completely change their look and make a bold statement! One length bobs will be the must have look for SS21, the choppy cut giving a real creative feel.

The Long Long

There is still some clients who are will be holding on to their length and with this in mind, the sleek and simple long, long look will be the one to keep in mind for SS21.With many clients growing their hair due to the lack salon visits, it may be a very small trim to get rid of damaged ends. Popular with the likes of Khloe Kardashian and Beyonce, it’s a simple yet powerful look and can be enhanced by adding a professional shine spray.

Fringes are back and ready to be created! A whole variety of fringes will be popular including the micro fringe for the creative clients, curtained fringe for those looking for a subtle change and the full fringe for those who want to be BOLD! The fringe can be completely adapted to the individual, depending on their face shape and style.

The Shag

The haircut of the year – the shag! Popular back in the day, The Shag is back and is going to be huge in 2021. Adding a middle parted fringe to the look will give it a much more modern feel and will bring the look to the future.
